Abstract
In recent years the use of statistics has become important in medical and dental research due to the development of various statistical softwares as the amount of information to be analyzed has been remarkably increased. In this article, we studied recent trends in the use of statistics in medical and dental research. For this, we collected articles published between 2002 and 2018 in three prominent international journals in medical and dental fields, and classified text using textmining technique. It is observed that the sophisticated techniques such as generalized linear model and Bayesian method have been increasingly applied. We found that SAS is still popularly used but the number of articles using R for analysis has been steadily increased. The proportion of statistical experts among article authors also increased in medical journals.
