Abstract
This study was to investigate the difference of career decision making self-efficacy, career decision level and career resilience of nursing students undertaking Individual Career Plan Program (ICPP) in pre- and after-clinical semester. A quasi-experimental study with one-group pretest-posttest design was utilized using self-reported questionnaires among 117 nursing students enrolled in a college, Daegu. ICPP is a comprehensive career planning and development system online which credit the outcomes of subjects’ self-directed career activities in each semester and accredit career course in final semester. Data were collected before going on to clinical practice and at the end of academic year by self-report questionnaire. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and paired t-test. There were significant differences in career decision making self-efficacy, career decision level and career resilience of the subjects pre- and after-clinical semester. The results indicate that the ICPP has a positive effect on career decision making self-efficacy, career decision level and career resilience of nursing students during the academic years and it could be used to develop a comprehensive career planning and development curriculum.
