The effect of cerebrovascular accident on lifestyle and quality of life: A propensity-matched comparison

Abstract
This study is a retrospective comparative study using propensity score matching methods to determine the difference in lifestyle and life quality between patients with stroke and healthy subjects. The subjects were 288 stroke patients over 40 years old and 288 healthy groups from a total of 24,269 subjects of 7th National Health and Nutrition Survey. The critical difference of characteristics between the two groups was analysed by t-test along with independent t-test. The results suggest that the patient with stroke had a lower subjective health condition and life quality than the healthy group, and stress perception rate and body mass index were higher. Therefore, to prevent a secondary stroke and enhance life quality, it is necessary to develop and implement proactive programs for lifestyle refinement and stress management.
