Abstract
Graphical methods for displaying relevant information in linear regression analysis are widely used for regression diagnosis. The added variable plot plays an important role in examining the marginal effects of the explanatory variable along with the hypothesis test. In this paper, we extend the added variable plots to nonlinear regression. These plots are significantly related to score tests, and we also examine the relationship between score tests and added variable plots in nonlinear regression. We apply the added variable plots and score tests to the actual data.
