Abstract
In this paper, we analyzed the major usefulness of college graduates using the panel data from Korea Student Aid Panel Survey (2022). We conducted the logistic regression analysis and the decision tree analysis with SAS 9.4 and SPSS 20.0. The logistic regression analysis result showed that if graduates’ have a career goal, a job search period is less than 6 months, an employment period is more than 12 months, and a grant per tuition rate is higher, the graduates perceive the major usefulness higher. Especially there was a significant difference on the graduates’ field of study. As a result of the decision tree analysis, subject types were classified into 8 types. Also, the main influencing factors of the group with high major usefulness are found as in following order; field of study, career goal, job search period, grant per tuition rate, monthly income, employment period.
Keywords : Decision tree, KOSAPS, major usefulness.
